At 2:50 am this morning, a tree fell outside of the French Broad Electric transmission line right of way. One phase was damaged and on the ground when the power company crew arrived. Power was restored around 4 am. The location of the damage was where the line crossed the mountain range behind Griffiths store in Tipton Hill. It’s a difficult area to patrol and access. Outstanding work by French Broad crews to find the problem and restore power in just over an hour. They continued through the morning finalizing the necessary repairs. One of the coldest nights of the year, but French Broad was on the job, restoring power to those affected.
