A Tennessee man is facing a murder charge following a deadly shooting in Madison County.
Authorities say 70-year-old Douglas Rex Conner of Greeneville was taken into custody April 21 in connection with the death of 66-year-old Kenneth Larry Patterson.
According to the Madison County Sheriff’s Office, the shooting happened around 1:20 a.m. on March 31 on Franklin Mountain Road, where Patterson was found dead at the scene.
In a news release issued Wednesday, investigators said the incident appears to have stemmed from a domestic situation involving what they described as a jealous rage.
Sheriff Buddy Harwood expressed condolences to the victim’s family and praised investigators for their work on the case.
Conner is charged with felony murder and is being held without bond. His next court appearance is scheduled for May 12.
