Janice Rose Bishop Lancaster, age 76, of Sagebrush Road in Spruce Pine, passed away Wednesday, November 5, 2025 at The Green’s of Spruce Pine.
Born on October 10, 1949 in Greene County, TN, she was the daughter of the late Jesse and Melissa Henlsey Bishop. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Ronald Lancaster, Sr. Also preceding her in death were her sisters; Hilda Frankum and Vickie Vandernoot.
Janice loved her grandchildren and spending time with them, as well as spending time with all of her family. She enjoyed watching T.V., watching old western movies and reading.
Left to cherish her memories are her daughter; Melissa Lancaster and Bobby of Spruce Pine, her son; James Lancaster, Jr. of Cornelius, NC, her sisters; Sharon Bishop of Alabama, Barbara Williams Bishop and Pamela Scott both of Michigan, and her grandchildren; Austin Hipkins and Mason Hipkins.
The funeral service for Janice Lancaster will be on Monday, November 10, 2025 at 11:00 am in the Chapel of Webb Funeral Home. The family will receive friends on Monday, November 10, 2025 from 10:00 am until 11:00 am in the funeral home chapel. Interment will be in the Glenwood Memorial Park in Mooresville, NC.
