Robert “Bob” Sutton

Robert “Bob” Sutton, age 80, of Burnsville, passed away on Sunday, March 22nd, 2026, at Mission Hospital.

Born on July 22, 1945, in Pennsylvania, Bob was the son of the late Thomas Sutton and Sarah Rebecca Spangler Sutton. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Tommy Sutton.

Bob worked for many years as a self-employed mechanic. He was a skilled and hardworking man who took pride in his mechanical abilities and was always willing to lend a helping hand. Outside of work, he was an outdoorsman who enjoyed nature and had a passion for NASCAR, and mechanic on his brother and son’s Chevy race cars at Hickory and Tri-County Speedway.

He attended Browns Creek Baptist Church and held strong values of family, faith, and community. Above all, Bob will be remembered as a good dad and a loving grandpaw who cherished time with his family.

He is survived by his son, Robert “Bobby” Sutton, Jr.; his grandchildren, Brooke Sutton, Megan Sutton, Autumn Freeman (Chris), and Cheyenne Sutton (Logan); and nine great-grandchildren: Genesis Bishop, Brody Bishop, Aria Bishop, Jaxson Vance, Sawyer Vance, Paisley Freeman, Adalynn Freeman, Octavia Bond, and Xavier Bond.  He is also survived by numerous friends.

A funeral service will be announced at a later time.

Bob’s legacy of hard work, kindness, and devotion to his family will live on in all who knew and loved him.
