Donna Gail Hollifield, age 72, of Burnsville, North Carolina, passed away on April 14th, 2026, at Care Partners Solace Center.
Donna was born on January 10th, 1954 to Virginia Lee Robinson Buchanan and the late Jeter Biss Buchanan. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Buddy Hollifield, who passed away in 2023, a sister, Linda Laws, and a brother, Ronnie Buchanan.
She spent most of her life as a homemaker and was known for her strong spirit and kind heart. She loved laughing, dancing, music, and reading westerns.
Surviving in addition to her mother, Virginia, are her daughters: Angela McIntosh (Mike) of Burnsville and Christina Brown (Eddie) of Bakersville; her grandchildren: Everett Hudgins, Savannah Hudgins, Bradley Ware, Kaitlyn Hollifield, and CJ Brown; sister, Pat Laws of Spruce Pine. Several nieces, nephews, and cousins also survive, and her little dog Cookie.
A visitation will be held at Holcombe Brothers Funeral Home from 2 until 3 p.m. on Sunday, April 19th, 2026. Funeral services will follow with Pastor Chris Fox officiating. Burial will be in the Double Island Cemetery.
Donna will always be remembered for her joyful personality and the love she shared with her family and friends.
