The Town of Spruce Pine has declared a Phase 1 Water Shortage Advisory and is asking customers to voluntarily reduce water use as drought conditions continue across the region.
Residents and businesses are encouraged to conserve water by limiting outdoor watering, repairing leaks, running only full loads of laundry and dishes, and avoiding unnecessary water use. Town officials say the voluntary measures are intended to help protect the community’s water supply and reduce demand during the ongoing dry weather.
Officials will continue monitoring conditions and say additional restrictions could be implemented if drought conditions worsen.
