Mayor’s update on the Main Street Water Line Construction Project (Church St. to East Main St.):
The delays to the previously posted schedule were caused by testing issues on the new main line. There were pressure problems around the square that had to be addressed before it would pass the inspection.
The Contractor’s new schedule is a 3 week period to complete all tie-ins to the new line from Church St. to East Main St. including trench repair paving where the line is located.
There will be no work on Memorial Day weekend or on Monday, Memorial Day.
The Contractors or Town Staff will be reaching out to individual meter tie-in locations about scheduling to avoid business disruption as much as possible.
