There will be a Meeting on Cane River and Ray-Cort Park Updates Thursday, November 14th at 1 PM, at the Yancey County Extension office.  Jeff Howell, Yancey County Emergency Management Coordinator and Loren Deyton, Yancey County Parks and Recreation Director will lead a discussion on the reconstruction of the berm at Cane River Park and the renovation of Ray Cort Park.

2020 will be a busy time as both parks will be making substantial improvements. Cane River Park was hit hard by flooding and Jeff Howell has been working closely with FEMA to apply for funding to rebuild the berm and restore the park to pre-flood condition. Ray Court Park will be undergoing stream restoration, and other major improvements in the upcoming year. November 14th at 1 pm will be a wonderful chance to hear first hand about the progress being made to improve our parks and ask questions.
