Toe Cane Beekeepers’ Honey Tasting Contest

October 4, 2018 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm

A contest to determine the best tasting honey from Mitchell, Avery and Yancey counties for 2018 will take place from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, October 4 at Homeplace Beer Company in downtown Burnsville at the Burnsville Town Center.

Everyone is invited to sample local honey and cast your vote on the taste that wows you the most. It will be a tough decision as authentic honey flavors are as unique as wines. Winning honey will go on to represent our region in the International Black Jar contest. This event is a fundraiser for the Toe Cane Beekeepers Association, and proceeds will benefit bees and bee habitats in our region.

Attendance is free—a donation of $10 is requested to be a judge. Also, enjoy a silent auction and other honey bee delights.

Drop by anytime between 6-8 p.m, just give yourself enough time to taste, bid on raffle prizes, vote and enjoy handcrafted beer from Homeplace Beer Co., our host.

Contact Zach Downing at 702-510-3732, email: who8zach@gmail.com if you have questions, want to enter your honey, or would like to donate.
