Construction and renovations for Avery High School took another step forward when the Avery County Board of Commissioners unanimously approved a bid of over $17 million. The county has committed over $20 million in funding to cover any additional costs that may come up. Construction is expected to begin as soon as the current school year ends and is expected to be finished by late 2020 or early 2021.
