On Wednesday April 19, The Agriculture Education class was visited by two members from the Center For Pioneer Life in Burnsville. Natalie Monaghan (program manager) and John Hughes (farm manager) spoke to the students about opportunities that the Center offered and the tours and displays that were on the property. Currently, the center is partnering with Mitchell High School looking for students that are wanting to do an apprenticeship program with them. They are wanting 3 apprentices to work on the farm this coming summer. The apprentices will be learning farming techniques that were used in the late 1850’s when settlers came to this region, history of this region’s settlers, blacksmithing and making tools, farm management, Non-Profit operations, resume writing and much more.  This is a great opportunity for the students of MHS
