McDowell County Drug Charges

A narcotics investigation that started in October of last year lead to drug charges on March 28th by Detective Richard Pittman with the McDowell County Drug Enforcement Department.

High drug activity was reported at residence in Marion prompting the McDowell County Drug Enforcement Detectives and SWAT team members from the Sheriff’s Office and Marion Police Department to execute a search warrant on the residence. The search turned up fentanyl.

34-year-old Mason Goforth was charged with felonious maintaining a dwelling for a Controlled Substance, felonious Possession of a Schedule I Controlled Substance and felonious Possession with Intent to Manufacture, Sell or Deliver a Schedule I Controlled Substance. Goforth was issued a $30,000 secured bond.

31-year-old Shannon Mills was charged with felonious Possession of a Schedule I Controlled Substance and felonious Possession with Intent to Manufacture, Sell or Deliver a Schedule I Controlled Substance. Mills was issued a $1,000 secured bond.

49-year-old Terry Goforth was charged with Possession of Firearm by Felon. Goforth was issued a $20,000 secured bond.
