Investigation Leads To Arrest of Paroled Felon

On Wednesday, April 8th, fifteen cars and trucks were broken into at a local auto repair business. One car was stolen from the business. On Thursday, April 16th, the investigation into the break and entering of the cars and trucks along with the one theft lead to the arrest of Cody Edward Clymer, 33 of Burnsville. At the time of his arrest Clymer was on Parole as a convicted Felon.

Clymer remains in the custody of the Yancey County Sheriff Office Detention Center. As a consequence of his Parole violation he has no expectation of a bond until a parole hearing has been conducted. Clymer was issued a bond totaling $45,000.00 on 18 new Felony Charges including 2 Felony Counts of Probation Violation, Possession Of A Stolen Automobile, Felony Larceny Of A Motor Vehicle, Felony Attempted Larceny Of A Motor Vehicle, 13 Felony Counts Of Breaking Or Entering A Motor Vehicle, and Misdemeanor Injury To Personal Property. His next scheduled court appearance will be in the Yancey County District Court on June 11th, 2020.
