Roger Miller, age 76, of Hamburg Road in Bakersville, the Bear Creek community, passed away Friday, April 26, 2024 at Blue Ridge Regional Hospital in Spruce Pine.
Born on August 4, 1947 in Yancey County, he was the son of the late John and Ruby Parker Miller. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife, Virginia Miller who passed away in 2019.
Roger was a member of the Liberty Hill Baptist Church. He retired from Unimin of Spruce Pine. He loved his church, church family and church related activities. He also loved his family and spending time with them. He was a biker and enjoyed biker activities.
Left to cherish his memory is his son; Rodney Miller and wife, Michelle of Marion; his daughter; Jennifer DiRisio and husband, Vincent of Gray, TN; five grandchildren; Ariel, Skylar, Trey, Tiffany and Taylor.
A time to support the family, share memories, and receive friends will be on Monday, April 29, 2024 from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm at Liberty Hill Baptist Church. The funeral service will be on Monday, April 29, 2024 at 2:00 pm at Liberty Hill Baptist Church with Rev. Keith Buckner and the Rev. GE Freeman officiating. Interment will be in the Liberty Hill Baptist Church Cemetery.
