The National Day of Prayer, a time to gather and pray for our nation, our state, and our town & county: a nationwide event, is being observed Thursday, May 3rd.  In Mitchell County it will be observed at Riverside Park in Spruce Pine, NC and there will be two times to  gather: 12:00 noon and again, at 6:30 p.m.  In Yancey County the Yancey Baptist Association is sponsoring a National Day of Prayer Service on at Open Door Baptist Church at 21 Bennett Street, Burnsville. The Service will begin at Noon. Everyone is invited to attend.”
