Bakersville Fire & Rescue Breaks Ground for New Substation

Bakersville Fire and Rescue has begun construction on a new permanent substation for their rural Rhododendron Fire District. the substation will be located at the intersection of the 4500 block of Hwy 80 and Water Street in Bakersville. The substation is being built on a 1.95 acre tract donated to the Fire Department by current member and former Chief Mr. Edd Silver. The department thanks Mr. Silver for his generous contribution. The substation is scheduled to be completed in 2021. It will be funded partially by the NC State Fire Grant. This substation will allow Bakersville Fire and Rescue to continue to provide adequate fire and rescue protection to the Bandana community and their whole district.
