UPDATE UPDATE UPDATE —-
It is with great sorrow that we make this update. Jonathon was located yesterday evening in the Jacks Creek Community. And while it is not the ending that we had hoped and prayed for, we know that he is in heaven!
To the 1200 plus that shared our missing person post, thank you. To those who called, text and messaged us, thank you. And to those who offered your time and services to help us locate Jon, thank you.
A special thank you to Jon’s close friends and a special thank you to Shane Hilliard and the Yancey County Sheriff’s Office. We are so proud of our community and how in our time of need, so many stepped up to offer support and love.

Jonathan Penland went missing on April 22nd, 2024. He was last seen in the Jacks Creek Community wearing blue jeans, a sleeveless shirt and ball cap. His family has filed a missing person report through Yancey County Sheriff’s Office.
He does not have any warrants and is not in trouble with any law enforcement agency. His family is extremely worried about him and would like to know that he is okay. If you have any information call:
