Late last week NC Governor Roy Cooper announced Executive Order 135. The new order means no changes until May 8th for restaurants or other businesses or the public with the Stay at Home Orders. Hair dressers and other self-employed workers have struggled to register for unemployment. Changes have been made and should go in effect today. The problem is the State’s Division of Employment Security’s online form for unemployment was not built to handle self-employed requests until now.
