New COVID-19 Numbers from Toe River Health District

The latest COVID-19 numbers for the Tri-County area, released by the Toe River Health District, show a continued decrease in new positive cases detected. During the period from Tuesday, October 4th through Sunday, October 10th  Mitchell County reported 33 new positive cases, Avery County saw new positive cases drop 45. COVID Update 9/29/21

The latest COVID-19 numbers for the Tri-County area, released by the Toe River Health District, show a decrease in new positive cases in Yancey and Avery Counties and a small increase in Mitchell County. Yancey County had 43 new positive cases detected; Mitchell County reported 40 and Avery County with 28. Since COVID-19 numbers continue to increase the CDC has designated a majority of North Carolina counties as High transmission areas. High transmission is classified as places with more than 100 cases per 100,000 in a seven-day period.
