Newdale Fire Department Sets Up Wi-Fi for Students

Newdale Fire Department in an  effort to assist the community, is now providing a local WiFi Hotspot for students to be able to do their school work. The passwords are posted on the doors and the wifi is limited to only allow appropriate websites access. There are cameras recording the parking lot 24/7 for safety. ...(more)

Advocacy Group Sends Invalid Forms

The State Board of Elections has learned that a voter advocacy group mailed about 80,000 absentee ballot request forms to North Carolina residents with votersユ information already filled out on the forms. Yancey Library Closed Due To Positive COVID Cases

Two positive cases of COVID-19 have been confirmed at the Yancey County Public Library. The Yancey Library is now closed to the public until further notice.  The individuals who tested positive are recovering at home.
