Yancey Sheriff Issues Statement on Church’s Return to Indoor Services

Yancey County Sheriff Gary Banks issued a statement saying he would not interfere with Yancey County citizens’ right to worship. The statement noted that Yancey County citizens had adhered well to the Governors Executive Orders relating to COVID-19.  Most of the local churches have continued having services either online, drive-in or outside. Yancey County Drive Thru Testing Today (5/14/20)

Drive thru testing for COVID-19 will begin at 9am in Burnsville. The testing will be at the Yancey County Health Department from 9am until 3:30pm. Anyone who would like to be tested, regardless of symptoms, is welcome to participate. Health officials said the reasons for drive through testing are twofold. Spruce Pine Cancellations & Closures

Yesterday afternoon (05/13/2020) the Town of Spruce Pine and Spruce Pine Main Street announced on social media a number of Cancellations and Closures of activities planned for this summer in Spruce Pine. Yancey County Lifts Recommended Suspension of Short-Term Rentals
